Indian Head Massage
Indian Head Massage does not just work on the head, despite the name. The treatment includes the upper back, neck, shoulders, arms, hands, the scalp and the face. Treatments can be adjusted to the preferences of the client.
Indian Head Massage is an ancient Indian Massage technique based on traditional medicine known as Ayurveda. This system of holistic healing concentrates on balancing the body to achieve homeostasis; a state of balance and well-being.
Within the principals of Ayurveda there are five Doshas or energy forces within the body; Air, Earth, Fire, Water and Ether. When the Doshas are balanced they provide the body with inner strength. Influenced by changes in diet, stress levels, temperature and lifestyle; Doshas can become unbalanced which can lead to illness, reduced energy levels and feelings of depression.
The aim of Indian head massage is to release the blocked energy that has accumulated in the tissues, muscles and joints of the head, face, neck and shoulders using a range of different movements including application of deep kneading and compression movements over the neck, shoulder and scalp areas. In addition to gently stimulating and stroking pressure points on the face. Treatment can be adapted to suit individual client needs.

Testimonials:
"As a climber, I found Indian head massage amazing for releasing the tension in my shoulders, arms and hands (which was a surprise because I mistakenly thought that indian head massage would only involve the head). I also tend to have trouble sleeping, but after the massage I was so deeply relaxed that I could have slept through anything! Tam was really helpful and friendly and made me feel very much at ease; I'll definitely be treating myself to another massage soon! On a final note I also have sensitive skin, so I was really glad that Tam had a variety of oils for me to choose from. Thanks Tam!"
Tim, Bristol "A friend and I recently decided to make use of Tams services. I work in a stressful environment as a homelessness support worker and have been unable to have a lot of free time to relax. My stresses had caused some issues in my neck, back and shoulders as I had been holding onto stress. The 30 minute treatment was excellent and I have felt the benefits immediately and still feel less tense. I will be doing this again as I think its brilliant for your mental and physical health. Tam was a skilled practitioner as well as putting us both at ease before and after treatment, being in my own home and therefore comfortable was also a bonus. I would recommend this to anyone especially if like me you have a stressful work life. Since this initial review my partner and I have met with Tam several more times. We find that the treatment is very helpful and eases some of the complaints we have both had with back and shoulder pains. I have also become more aware of my own weight and reasons I get these issues. I would highly recommend Tam to any of my friends (In fact I have)Peace and understanding. " Dan Pover, 26. Bristol |
